Lobo Solitario

Regular readers will know all about my sneering contempt for foreign covers of British gamebooks. And here. And also here. Oh, and here as well.

So it's pleasantly surprising to discover that at least one printing of the Spanish versions of Lone Wolf had some really nice covers, presumably locally sourced.

Lone Wolf doesn't really look like the 16 year old he's supposed to be at the start of Flight from the Dark here but the image of him on the cover of Shadow on the Sand is suitably monastic.

  1. Oh I don't know about "monastic". Lone Wolf looks like he might have a bit of trapped wind on that last one. Otherwise, quite right; those covers are really quite good.

  2. That would have to be some of the best artwork I've seen on a gamebook.
