  2. I loved Cosmic Encounters. Saw it in WD, got, played it, loved it. This whole post covers most of my childhood obsessions. Also the Fiend Folio one looks ace and I could never get Battle Cars to work properly.

  3. That's deeply cool. You must must must do a tutorial.

  4. Did it with a program called Image To ZX Spec:-

    http://www.silentsoftware.co.uk/

It takes an image and converts it to Speccy resolution of 256x192 which will of course play havoc with the proportion if the source image doesn't match.

Then it goes through each 8x8 pixel block converting the block to 2 colours (all the Speccy could handle in a single 8x8px "character cell" without clever trickery) from the Speccys 16 (yes 16, not 8) colour palette.

Results are mixed but if you throw loads of stuff at it you can be surprised by some of the output.

    1. Cheers Coop!

Been playing with Teletext art recently (similar to BBC Micro Mode 7) and digging the whole 8-bit vibe.
