Happy Thirtieth Birthday!

Happy Birthday Sinclair ZX Spectrum. The Greatest Microcomputer Ever Built is 30 years old today having been launched on St. Georges Day, 1982.

I blame you along with blaming Jackson and Livingstone for it all. I might be doing something different with my life if it wasn't for you. Happy Birthday you old bastard. X

  1. I was always a Commodore 64 man -- in other words, The Enemy -- but even I had to smile when I saw Google's graphic today in all it's 48k colour clash glory.

  2. Ultimate - Play the Game! Anyone for Atic Atac, Manic Miner, Jetpac or if you want to destroy your keypad/joystick how about a game of Daley Thompson's Decathalon? Or Spy Hunter. Or etc etc... 48k of heaven.

  3. The Speccy. Loved by UK retro folks, mocked by almost everyone else!

(I still say the only reason yall like that.. THING is Stockholm Syndrome. However as a retro collector if I lived in the UK I would probably grab a +2A Speccy. After I got an Amiga 500 and an Atari ST of course.)

  4. It's so...small. I've heard of these but never really seen a picture. Wow the c64 was a lumbering beast compared to this wonder.
